Emiline Forster completed a Bachelor of Dance at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2009. During her time there she performed in works by Lina Limosani, Antony Hamilton, Sue Healey, Stephanie Lake, Phillip Adams and Rebecca Hilton. In 2009 she choreographed her first independent full-length work, Exposure, which was performed at Ormond Hall, Melbourne. She has made several dance films, including Procrastination which won a Robin Anderson Award and Dear God, Let Me Out of Here which recently screened at Reeldance as part of Cinemoves #5. In 2008 she was awarded a scholarship to travel to New York, spending a month at Movement Research and undertaking a workshop with the Stephen Petronio Company. In 2010 she choreographed We Are All Stars, a site specific work at Federation Square for Ausdance and the Australian Dance Awards, and was awarded an ArtStart grant. Her latest work, Dust, won the Melbourne Fringe Festival’s coveted award for Best Dance and will appear in the Sydney Fringe Festival in September 2011. Most recently Emiline was awarded a DirtyFeet space grant and in August will create new work in residence at PACT Centre for Emerging Artists.
